Andy's Smoothie Build

Another ride submission from Andy in Illinois!

Greetings!  Here is a photo of my well-ridden Smoothie (48cm) build right after dipping the front tire in the waters of the Mississippi River at the finish of RAGBRAI 2013 (Council Bluffs IA to Fort Madison IA--450 miles).

The bike performed beautifully, especially on hills, and lived up to its name.  Only issue was a destroyed side wall on the rear tire, requiring a mid-Iowa replacement.  Build includes:  SOMA matching lugged steel fork; SOMA Hwy One bars; Velo Orange Grand Cru polished headset; NOS Ultegra 6500 9-speed triple components; Nitto stem and seat post; Fizik Alliante saddle; H+Son Archetype rims laced to Ultegra 6500 hubs.  I can't wait to see the Grand Randonneur frame!

Best,
Andy
