2012 Saga

Alright kiddos. You've all been very patient.

For those of you who have been waiting, the new green Soma Sagas are here and ready to ship. They look lovely, don’t they? For those of you who aren't already enamored with this bike, let me give you some background. We introduced the Saga a couple years ago now and it's all ready been ridden pretty much all over the world. The Saga was intended to be a heavier duty option for loaded touring, but it's so much more than that. You can build it up as a comfy rain bike with upright drop bars and fenders. Some light wheels make it feel pretty zippy. You can do Moustache bars and knobbies and have yourself a primo gravel masher. Pop a Soma Porteur rack on the front and Soma Oxford bars and you've got a solid urban utility bike. You can even trick it out with Honjo Fenders and a Nitto Randonneur bars, Guidonnet levers and knobs and a Nitto M12 rack and have yourself a pretty darn nifty bike for long day rides and brevets. So the question you have to ask yourself is why don’t you have one of these? Well I don’t have a good answer for you.

Pake Alloy Track Frameset! Lightweight butted aluminum frame with no goofy shapes matched to a carbon fork that’s raked for track-like handling, but it will still take brakes. Don’t call this one ‘tarck’. It would love some time in the velodrome.

Cardiff Leather Bar Tape We've got seamless and seamed. Both awesome of course, no seams means no fraying!

It's got the new SOMA headbadge on it. This is the lone color option for now but we're definitely open to suggestions. This style tee is not as boxy as previous styles, it's way softer, really comfy and light enough for riding...

Sneak a peak....Colorful NEW New Xpress tires

We just got these samples today, fresh from our Japanese factory. Four colors (in the order that they're shown): green middle/black center/ skin sidewall, center+middle brown/skin sidewall, center+middle burnt orange/skin sidewall, center+middle black/white sidewall.

How do you like 'em? They're gonna be launched in a couple of months but we couldn't wait to show them off, we're pretty excited about them!

Sturmey Archer 3 speed Shifter...Pake's new blog

We just got in some of these Sturmey-Archer 3-speed bar-end shifters. They can be paired up with our IGGY wheelsets to give you more bike setup options and will make a great compliment to many 3-speed builds.




















In other blog-worthy news, Pake finally got a blog up, and its been used to announce some serious changes to their lineup for 2010. We'll let them do the talking about the new stuff, but lets say they made some great changes to their track frame and forks, and aren't afraid of having a few colors in their lineup!
