New Double Cross Frames Arriving Soon
The Double Cross has been the frame that we have felt best represented Soma's core values. It is durable, versatile, and practical. And till now, it's never been very flashy. We've always purposefully picked dark or muted colors that would blend into the urban landscape and not draw attention of would-be thieves. This year we break with that just a little with this Double Cross in a tasty Ivory. Don't know why exactly. Maybe it's because we've been working with Rivendell. Maybe it was going to too many hand-built bike shows. Maybe it's just wanting to be in EcoVelo...having them take some of those glorious hyper-idyllic, golden hour shots of our bikes. Whatever.
We think the new ivory frame can make for some inspiring builds. Can't wait to see what you guys do with it. Shops can order next week from Merry Sales and in a couple of weeks from our other distributors. Because of a shipping snafu, matching fork will not be available until late July. (UPDATED: July 26, 2010 - Ivory forks have arrived.)

Any chance there will be a discount on the older Double Cross frames?
Any chance Soma could post a picture of what the new Double Cross DC will look like? I placed an order on one, about a month ago. It's been a long wait. Going all out with this build.
We don't make it a rule to change our colors every year. The Double Cross DC will be retaining its current Midnight Silver paint scheme through 2010.
Ya, I'm glad it's staying midnight silver. I just want to see how the latest edition looks with the new badge, and to if the decals may have been changed. Does it have a stripe on the seat tube, like the white one? I like that addition.
Ya, I read that. I'm just want to see how the DC DC looks with the new badge, and to know if there are any other cosmetic changes. Like, does it have a stripe on the seat tube too. Sure look great on the white version.
The current stock still 2009 in the DCDC. We ordered kind of deep last fall, then the order came late...yada yada. New versions with the metal badge won't start coming until September. Sorry. Like I said we don't change our colors every year and when we change them it isn't necessarily in the beginning of the year.
Oh no. I ordered from my LBS about three months ago. Wanted that fancy badge. Hmm. Well, thanks for letting me know.
I wait for an ivory fork .
Awwww Man!
Wish I was in the market for a new bike.
My 5 year old DC is still going strong.
You all do trade-ins?
