Soma is going Carbon!

Breaking News!

It's been decided, effective immediately Soma will be discontinuing all steel frame production to focus exclusively on making full carbon fiber triathlon bikes. This news comes after the announcement that Soma Fabrications will be moving all operations to Switzerland, the home of our new parent company Cheetah Field Hockey and Stroller Supplies Inc. LTD.

In honor of this new direction please enjoy this video showcasing some of our upcoming products.

Plastic bikes are all right as long as they're not too light and the steerer tube is made from steel. I've got an old Kestrel Talon like that. Also I've got a Cadex from '94. It's still going strong after four overseas trips. The Kestrel frame is three pounds and the Cadex is about three point three. I wouldn't trust a modern two pound frame, though. That means I wouldn't buy a carbon bike again, but it was fun at the beginnng when it was unusual and not too flimsy.

It's April 10th. Time for a new blog entry. This obvious April fools joke has become stale.

Stealth Bike Mount is the carbon fiber iPhone mount that sticks to your bike. It’s the brainchild of Volar Technologies who we think have come up with one of the best solutions for iPhone users who must have a bike trail in their lives.
