Fixed Cross

One of our better dealers, The Bicycle Business, built up this sweet cross bike using a Soma Rush fixed-gear frame. Built with our gold Late Riser bars and camo Thick & Zesty tape with camo Velocity rims and green Sugino RD Messenger Cranks. They write,
"Most of the employees here have been riding their track bikes on the dirt for a few years and we finally decided to give up our secret!"

So here's a new sport you can try in 2009! Happy New Year.

Happy New Year and I hope Soma does well for 2009.

Lots of us have been riding fixed off road for several years now. I think Soma could clean up this market by offering a “Path Racer” type frame—something with road sport geometry, track ends and room for 32-35 mm tires. I know you have the
Delancy, but the sizes are limited (I’m 6’4”) and 28mm tires are a little thin. If you guys offered something like the Smoothie ES with track ends and removable decals (a la Rush) you could make a killing, there are plenty of us itching for a decent, fixed gear, cross-ish frame.

My best wishes to you for 2009,

Owen

Raleigh's One Way (SS/fixed flip flop) feels like a CX bike in a lot of ways and takes 700x38 tires. Ditto for Redline's 925 and a few other made-in-Asia frames.

75 degree headtubes mean more fun though!

Not to mention <40mm rake in the fork.
